Raymond Corsini was an encylopedist and lexicographer in the field of psychology. He created Individual Education, which is a school system rooted in Alfred Adler’s Individual Psychology. In the 1960’s, Corsini recognized that adults were mistakenly blaming children for their poor behaviors and grades in school when the problems were promoted by the school system. He felt that that traditional school system was undemocratic and gave the children no choice in their own education. He set out to create a school system based upon respect and his new system was implemented in a dozen schools in North America and Europe in the 1980s and 1990s.
