Dr. Julia Yang Blagen assumed professorship over 30 years in counselor education and supervision from U.S. (Pennsylvania State U. at Shippensburg, California State U. at Fresno, and Governors State U.) and Taiwan where she founded the master’s and doctoral degree program at National Kaohsiung Normal University. She served as the 64th president of Illinois Counseling Association. She founded Taiwan Society of Adlerian Psychology. In 2015, she was recognized as a Diplomate of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP) and in 2025 she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from NASAP. She presently is co-hosting Denver Institute of Adlerian Living, a NASAP affiliate. As a lifelong learner, she has received certification as an integrative nutrition health coach and is currently under the advanced training to become a mind-body trauma healing practitioner.
