Dr. Roy Kern (1940 – 2022) dedicated his professional life to Individual Psychology and made very substantial contributions in numerous ways through his teaching, research, and editorship. He was a Professor at Georgia State University (GSU) from 1970 to 2007 in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services, where he taught courses in Adlerian psychology and mentored many students. He retired from GSU in 2007 and moved to Lithuania, where he continued advocating for Adlerian psychology as a Scientific Professor in the Department of Theoretical Psychology at Vytautas Magnus University until he retired for the second time in 2015. He produced over 90 publications plus five books, with four focused on Adlerian psychology, and was a co-author of the Basic Adlerian Scales for Interpersonal Success – Adult form (BASIS-A Inventory). For nineteen years, he was co-editor of The Journal of Individual Psychology.
