William (Bill) Nicoll, Ph.D. has been involved in Adlerian Psychology (IP) for 50 years.  He received his initial training in I.P. studying with such notable Adlerians as Heinz & Rowena Ansbacher, Harold Mosak, Manford Sonstegaard, and Oscar Christensen. He currently co-directs the Resilience Counseling & Training Center (RCTC)along with his wife, Dr. Monica Nicoll, in North Conway, NH, USA. RCTC’s focus is on facilitating the continued development and evolution of Adler’s Individual Psychology.  RCTC builds upon Adler’s IP premise that the goal of all interventions should be to increase social interest (i.e., mental health and resilience) rather than mere symptom reduction/control

Bill has served on the faculty of several universities and, most notably, as Professor and Chair of the Department of Counselor Educators at Florida Atlantic University. Bill is a past vice president of NASAP and developed and directed the former Adlerian Training Institute. Bill was the #1 rated trainer for the American Counseling Association’s former National Professional Development program providing training in Adlerian-based Brief Counseling. He has provided over 500 training workshops across N&S America, Asia, Africa, and Europe on Adlerian counseling/therapy (individual and family) as well as school applications of IP. He has developed several self-sustaining Adlerian training programs across the U.S. and Europe.
