Dr. Zivit Abramson was born in Israel in 1938. She is a psychologist and a senior faculty at the School of Adlerian Psychotherapy, Alfred Adler Institute, Israel. In the early years of the Adlerian movement in Israel, at a time when there was only one channel on the Israeli T.V., she hosted (alternating with Achi Yotam) a program in which live families were receiving Adler-Dreikurs counseling. The program ran three times a week for seven years. The program raised a generation of Israeli children according to these principles. For decades, she also wrote weekly columns in the most-read papers in the country, offering Adler-Dreikurs tips and advice.

For 35 years, Dr. Abramson was also a faculty member of ICASSI (International Committee of Adlerian Summer Schools and Institutes). Dr. Abramson traveled and presented workshops in most of the European countries. In addition to articles published in the Journal of Individual Psychology, she authored four books. Two of them were translated into English and German. “Learning Couples” was published by The Adlerian Society UK & ASIP (Institute for Individual Psychology). “Basic Concepts of Adlerian Theory” was published by the author and supported by the International Association of Individual Psychology (IAIP). This booklet can be ordered from the author at no cost. Dr. Abramson’s dissertation (Philosophy) pointed at the similarities between Adler and Sartre and showed that Adler was not only a psychologist but also a philosopher.
